Pattern recommends #4 needle and I did a lace section at a particularly rowdy @makersmakedc event. This is not necessarily something I would recommend if you’re looking for perfect lace.
The first lace section was a little difficult to keep track of my progress, but I quickly got the hang of it. This pattern is particularly easy to follow and I definitely recommend it to new knitters.
I wish I had done a little bit more fading between colors 3 and 4, but I’m generally happy with how it turned out. I was expecting for it to be monster-sized based on projects by others on instagram but I’m super happy that I’m not going to be trailing it behind me like a child’s blanket or bundled up to my eyebrows when I wear it wrapped around my neck.
Final update: I was a little worried for the last 20 or so rows of this pattern (it didn’t look at all like others I’d seen on Instagram), but it was just fine. I love my new shawl and have already worn it to work a few times despite the fact that I have been too lazy to weave in the last two ends. This pattern was perfect for travel or movie knitting and I will be making at least one more.
